Picture an agriturismo in Tuscany and you probably see the same things everyone does: a stone farmhouse, a long table, cypress trees on a ridge.
Ours is a little different. It sits in the south of the region, in the Maremma, ten minutes from the thermal waters of Saturnia.
On the same land there are three apartments and two glamping Eco-Suites. This guide explains what that means for your stay, what it costs, and who it suits. Including when it doesn’t.
What an agriturismo in Tuscany actually is
An agriturismo is a farm that also hosts guests. In Italy the word has a legal meaning: hospitality has to sit alongside real agricultural land, not replace it.
That’s the difference from a country hotel dressed in terracotta. The pace comes from the land around you, and the people who greet you are the people who live there.
Here those people are Giulia and Luca. There’s no front desk and no fixed check-in hour: you tell us when you’re arriving and we’re there.
A Tuscan farm stay with two glamping Eco-Suites
Most farm stays in Tuscany give you one choice: a room or an apartment. We added a second one.
The three apartments have a full kitchen and their own space. They suit longer stays, families and anyone who likes cooking on holiday. See the apartments.
The two glamping Eco-Suites are built for shorter stays, mostly couples. Breakfast arrives in a wicker basket on your veranda. Each suite has a compact kitchen made by a carpenter from Umbria, and a private hot tub filled with salt water, right there on the veranda. See the Eco-Suites.

What we don’t produce, and why we tell you
Many guides to the best agriturismo in Tuscany promise wine from the estate, oil from the press and dinner at a shared table. Some places offer all three. We’d rather be precise.
We have six rows of vines, about thirty metres each. We don’t make wine. The grapes become a few jars of jam for the house.
There are olive trees around the Eco-Suites and aromatic herbs in the garden, with rosemary growing everywhere. They’re the landscape you wake up to, not a product we sell.
We serve breakfast only, and only in the glamping. There’s no lunch, no dinner and no cooking class. For dinner, we send guests to another agriturismo five kilometres away, or to the small osterie of Montemerano.
If a Tuscan farm stay for you means eating what the farm grows every evening, we’re probably not your place. If it means waking up in the countryside and choosing your own evening, keep reading.

A salt-water pool and a properly dark sky
If you’re looking for a farm stay in Tuscany with a pool, ours is filled with salt water. The salt holds you up, so floating takes no effort at all.

At night the area is dark enough for the Milky Way to show with the naked eye. The sky here sits around 3 to 4 on the Bortle scale, the measure astronomers use for light pollution.
The noise level at night stays around 25 to 35 decibels. A city bedroom is usually 50 or more.
The stars are best from the hot tub or the veranda. From the bed you won’t see them: there’s a roof, and we’d rather say so now.

What it costs
Prices move with the season, so read these as a guide rather than a quote.
An Eco-Suite starts from €200 a night for two, breakfast included. The private hot tub is an extra €40 a night, or it comes included in the Total Relax rate, from €240. A third guest adds €25 a night.
The apartments cost less per night and have no breakfast, because they have a kitchen. The price depends on the dates and on how many of you there are, so ask us and we’ll tell you exactly.
Massages with Elenia, our therapist, are booked at least a day ahead and only for guests staying with us. They can happen among the olive trees, in the salt-water pool, in your hot tub or inside the suite. See the massages.
Who it suits, and who it doesn’t
Couples usually choose an Eco-Suite: a private hot tub, breakfast outside, the thermal springs ten minutes away.
Families tend to be happier in an apartment, with more room and a kitchen. The Eco-Suites can take a family with children too; we look at ages and numbers together before you book.
Travelling with a dog or a cat? The Bilocale apartment welcomes animals. The Eco-Suites don’t: they’re built in wood and PVC, and those materials can’t take the kind of cleaning that would be needed afterwards.
We’re open from spring to the beginning of autumn. If you’re planning a winter trip to Tuscany, we’re the wrong dates, not the wrong place.
Around the farm: hot springs and tuff towns
The Terme di Saturnia are about ten minutes by car. The Cascate del Mulino, the free natural pools below the village, are open day and night.
Within the hour you reach Pitigliano, Sovana and Sorano, the towns carved out of volcanic tuff. If you only have time for one, make it Pitigliano: the whole town seems to grow out of the cliff it stands on.
The coast of the Argentario and the Maremma nature park are also within a drive. The rest of the day can stay empty. That’s allowed here. How we run the place.
Honest questions before you book
It’s a farm that also hosts guests. Italian law ties the hospitality to real agricultural land. Ours is near Saturnia, in the Maremma, with olive trees, a small vineyard and aromatic herbs around three apartments and two glamping Eco-Suites.
It depends on what you want from it. If you want estate wine and dinner every night, choose a larger wine farm. If you want quiet, a salt-water pool, a private hot tub and the Terme di Saturnia ten minutes away, that’s what we offer.
Yes, a salt-water pool shared by all guests, open in season. Each glamping Eco-Suite also has a private salt-water hot tub on its veranda, available as an extra or included in the Total Relax rate.
No. We serve breakfast only, in the glamping Eco-Suites. The apartments have a full kitchen. For dinner we recommend another agriturismo five kilometres away and the osterie of Montemerano.
Yes. The apartments are the natural choice for families. The Eco-Suites can host a family with children too, depending on ages and numbers, which we check with you before booking.
Only in the Bilocale apartment, which welcomes animals. Pets aren’t allowed in the glamping Eco-Suites.
From spring to the beginning of autumn. We’re closed in winter.
